Joseph Traylor is an American design leader and educator; who leads and advises design across brand, product, marketing, and experiences.
For over five years Joseph led redesign and launch of the new Google brand; including its expression on over 100 products, services, events, and teams. This included overseeing the brand expression in product design, marketing, retail, event and research.
Prior to Google, Joseph worked for a number of award-winning design firms including Pentagram, IDEO, Moving Brands, and Siegel+Gale.
Over the years Joseph’s work has been published in numerous books, journals, and news outlets including, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wired, Fast Company, and more. His work has also received numerous awards from D&AD, The One Show, Red Dot, Fast Company, Art Directors Club, AIGA, SEGD, Type Director's Club, Print, Graphis, Communication Arts, REBRAND 100, and much more.
Joseph received his MFA in design from the School of Visual Arts in New York and his BFA in graphic design from Indiana University.
Previously, Joseph was on the faculty at New York University and Queens College, where he taught design courses on topics like design thinking, branding, experience design and design strategy.
